Today is Friday.. Our next day of programming.. =) Our group has to design a water tap flow system using motion sensor and we manage to complete the task!! Congrats guys! ^_^ I feel so happy~~ But at that time, we built the circuit by using the components prepared by Mr Saiful’s company where at the end of the programme, we have to give it back to him. Thus, next week we will go shopping for the components to build our own circuit. Hopefully that we will get allowance to go shopping for the components! =)

In the evening, we celebrate Aftab’s and Q’ s birthday. The chocolate indulgence cake was so delicious! Thanx Petrosains! ^_^ Besides, Mr Jamy Bell gave his last speech as that he will be going back to his hometown in US for couple of weeks. It was so nice to having chance to know him. He is a great guy! =)

The kung fu panda is soo cute! :D I like it so much! I just come back from watching the movie with ainil, syifa, acap, misganaw, elyas, farhana, yan, and azrul. You guys should go and watch it also because the story is marvellloues! ^_^

Now, lets talk about my activity in Petrosains for the day. Early in the morning, we walk to the Petrosains as usual. At 8.45 a.m, my friends and I already arrive in front of the entrance to KLCC and suddenly one of our friends, yan called us and told that we have to bring our laptop! Waaa.. this means that we have to go back again to take it. Consequently, we arrived at the roll call late, at 9.05 a.m. Pity us. We should be informed earlier than that right..

Okla.. Lets be positive about that.. Maybe there is some benefit behind it like we can have a little bit warming up, walking go, back, and go again today to the Petrosains! :D Hehe..

Then, the activity for today.. What’s our main activity today?? PROGRAMMING~~ Thank God I am Electrical & Electronics Engineering student! haha.. What we learn and done today, more or less, the concept is similar to one of the subject that I and a few of my friends have taken last two semester, the MICROPROCESSOR!! Of course I didn’t remember it so much but it helps me a lot to understand what we learnt today. Even though Microprocessor is much much tougher than this, but we still have to pay attention and focus at what Mr Saiful taught us because the interface is different.

Today, we do the programming by using graphic icon of flow chart which is different from what we have learnt but easier to be done. :D I feel very happy today as our group manage to do the programming correctly and can function well early than others! Congrats guys! ^_^ PETRO MACH 5 is the BEST! :D Congrats Acap, Luis, Thiha, and Mahir! :) You guys are so fantastic especially Acap who really did well in the programming.. Our Group manage to make the circuit work this way, during the day(sun is there), the led and buzzer will turn off, but the fan will turn on, and vice versa at night. We control this by using the LDR (Light Dependence Resistor).

We learn programming for the whole day today and we will continue it again tomorrow the whole day also.. I hope I can understand the programming better tomorrow and my group will do well.. :)

I really love standing up there!!! ^_^ It’s like I am on the sky! Even though this was my second time go to the sky bridge but it was my first time to the floor that allocated for the visitor. During my first visit in July 2005, contingent of Petronas (including me) were brought to the floor of the bridge that allocated only for staffs. From up there, I can see the beautiful view of KL city. :D

That was one of the main important events for the day. My most precious experience! Hehe.. Besides that, I have another first time experience today which is go inside the Philharmonic Hall watching the Malaysian Philharmonis Ochestra (MPO)!!! I went there with eight of my friends (Bibi, Phuong, Syifa, Asraf, Sam, Melissa, Farhana, and Aimi). Thanx Bibi for telling me about the performance! If not, I am gonna miss this opportunity.. The performance was so wonderful and great and it really made me amazed. I like it so much! =)

How about my schedule today in Petrosains?? This is my third day here..It was also great! ^_^ Early in the morning, we have to attend the roll call as usual. Then, we have the Marketing Talk by Mr Fred and Ms Rafidah. They explained and shared a lot of information with us such as the cost to advertise one page, full – coloured advertisement at STAR news paper is approximately RM28 000 and an advertisement that been advertised during the period of TV3 Buletin Utama is about RM12 000 once it appeared! So expensive right?

Then, we have Operation Talk by Ms Noriza. I like her talk so much! It was so interactive and attractive! :D One of the main point that I got from her talk is about appropriate voice tone that we should use when deal with customers or visitors are clear, calm, firm, caring and soothing tone. Another tips is that, we must always remember that people respond to HOW you say it. =) Besides that, three components of attitude that people observed on you are how you think, how you feel, and how you act.

The last talk entitled “ Chemistry : An inspiration behind exciting toys” delivered by Mr Nor Azhar Ishak. The purpose of this talk is to encourage us to love chemistry, and feel more curious and excited to explore it as we can also having fun working with those chemistry stuff! Mr Azhar do explained and demonstrate to us about magic cup, growing creatures, magic ball, instant worms, slime, silly putty, light stick, burning book, magic ink, and rocket. Stuff that I like the most is the lighting stick and the rocket! The lighting stick can only be fluorescent when we try to break the stick where we actually breaking the crystal inside it. Next, the rocket happened as a result of reaction between mentos and coke drink where the mentos lessen the surface tension of the coke and then BURSTT!!! the coke drink blow out from the bottle!

Before our visit to the sky bridge which was scheduled on 4.45 pm, Mr Faiz reminded us about the KEYWORDS which are:

The second day begun.. Today, four of us (ainil, syifa, melissa, and me) become the first arrived at th PB counter!! (8.48 a.m). Good guys! Keep up the good discipline.. :D

Let’s explore the Petrosains!! ^_^ That’s the first thought come to my mind! I feel so excited! Eventhough I have been there before, but that was 4 years ago. I am sure lots of new exciting show has been added in the Petrosains.

But before we start the day, we have to attend the role call that is compulsory to be attended by all the staffs and volunteers of Petrosains. We are part of the team right? O course! :D During the role call, Ms Suya introduced us to all the staffs and volunteers. All of them are so friendly and energetic! :D

For today’s task, Ms Suya asked us to choose 3 sections where we have to do a short report about it. My team, “PETRO MACH5” (Lois, Mahir, Asraf, Thiha, and I) chosed SPEED, PETROJAYA, and SPACE for the report. To reach at the first station, we ride the “Dark ride”. We start at PETROJAYA where we can see lots of “wayang kulit” show. It’s of course about Sri Rama, and Sri Rawana. The mini shows were also interesting, such as the popping coin and the fire filter. Before that we also have the chance to experience the electron went through our body! The person who touched us can feel the current. :P

Then, at SPACE it explained about our galaxy, solar system, and characteristic of living in SPACE such as no sound can be heard as sound cannot travel in vacuum.

At SPEED, of course it explained about F1 car and also about how fast is our speed measurement! But I couldn’t drive the F1 car because it was broke down and the queue for the helicopter was too long and at that time we have to proceed to next station.

We also explored other sections that not included in our report such as EXPLORATION, DIORAMA, and MOLECULES. I love the most the experience of riding the helicopter!! ^_^ I hope can take another ride again next time..

In the evening, we have activities with our beloved Director, Mr Jamy. :D He asked us to explain about one simple science concept using simulation and my group, PETRO MACH5 chosed to explain about the CONVEX and CONCAVE mirror. It was a good presentation. Congrats guys!! :D

After that, Mr Daniel conducted us. He asked us to build a tower by using all 30 role of old news papers and the tower must be stable and one of our group member must fitted in it and Acap (Asraf) be the lucky guy! Eventhough our tower did not win the competition but we were having such a great time building it together.. :) Do not give up guys!! We have tried our best right!! ^_^

After that, we were divided according to our country and we have to do brainstorming on how to solve the lack of energy problem in our country. This session was held in order to help Mr Fauzi to solve the problem to set up the guideline for our main project that is coming soon!! Can’t wait to start it!! :D
Tomorrow we will visit the SKYBRIDGE!!! ^_^ This gonna be my second time there.. I feel so excited to face the day!! :D

Today is our first day in PETROSAINS!! I feel so excited and energetic! ^_^ My friends (Syifa and Ainil) and I arrived in front of the main entrance 20 minutes earlier! (8.40 a.m) huhu.. At that time only Kamran has arrived. So we become second group to arrive. :D

The main event for today is the opening ceremony launched by the handsome guy who else if not Mr Jamy. ;D The ceremony was held in AV room in Tower 1. After that, each of us have to introduce ourselves and I try my best to memorize their names as much as I can. Now, I have remember all the girls name but only part of the guy’s name but at the end of the 3 weeks programme I will make sure I can recognize their faces together with their names! The guys kamran, thiha, alfouti, harun, aftab, atta, louis, maher, asraf, sam, khy, james, abel, jameel.. 4 names more.. sory guys I am not manage to remember yet.. :( the girls ainil, syifa, yan, phuong, khadijah, bibi, kk, Melissa, asma, farhana, and aimi.. :D

After the opening ceremony, mr faiz brought us to walk around the petrosains but today (monday) it was closed. He asked us to use only one of our sense (the eye) but of course all of us were so curious to know more, thus, we touch here and there.. hehe.. don’t get mad at us mr faiz.. do not give us penalty ya! :P

When we walk through petrosains, we can see a lot of interesting things but we not be able to explore it today.. its ok.. wait until tomorrow.. we will get the chance!!

Its almost 12 midninte.. Tomorrow we will wear the green fluorescent t-shirtt!! Cant wait to face the day!! I am sure that we will gain lots of valuable experience…
